Dr. Carlene Rosado-Martin, Optometrist
Dr. Rosado-Martin received her undergraduate degree in Biomedical Science from Texas A&M University, and her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Houston College of Optometry. Before joining the staff of Primary Eyecare in 2006, Dr. Rosado-Martin worked as an optometrist in the U.S. Air Force, where she received a Meritorious Service Medal as well as awards for Medical Group Officer of the Year and Medical Group Optometrist of the Year. In addition, Dr. Carlene Rosado-Martin participated in a humanitarian mission to El Salvador to examine patients for eye disease and eyeglasses. Dr. Rosado-Martin is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, and a member the American Optometric Association and the Virginia Optometric Association.

Dr. Adrianna Hempelmann, Optometrist
Dr. Hempelmann attended West Virginia University, achieving her Bachelor's of Science degree in Biology. She went on to obtain her Doctorate of Optometry from the Illinois College of Optometry. Dr. Hempelmann joined the Primary Eyecare staff in 2009. Dr. Hempelmann joined the Primary Eyecare staff in 2009. Dr. Jason Piant, Optometrist
Dr. Jason Piant attended Vanderbuilt University in Nashville, Tennessee where he earned a Bachelor's of Engineering degree in chemical engineering. He earned his doctorate in optometry from Ohio State University College of Optometry, while also being a four year member of Beta Sigma Kappa, an optometric honor society. Dr. Piant is a member of both the American Optometric Association and the Virginia Optometric Association. Dr. Joe DiGirolamo, Optometrist
Dr. Joe DiGirolamo grew up in Southern California, and after moving to Charlottesville he graduated from Western Albemarle High School. (Several of his teachers are now patients!) He then received his undergraduate degree in Biology from Villanova University located in Philadelphia. Remaining in Philadelphia, Dr. D. attended and graduated from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University. Upon graduating, Dr. DiGirolamo energetically joined his father in practice at Primary Eyecare.

Dr. Janice DiGirolamo, Optometrist
Dr. Janice DiGirolamo attended the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown, graduating magna cum laude with a BS in science in 1992. She went on to receive a doctor of Optometry from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 1996, graduating in the top 5% of her class. Dr. Janice joined Dr. Joe at Primary Eyecare in 2000. In her free time, Dr. Janice enjoys singing as a soprano in her church choir, making jewelry, cooking, traveling, and spending time with her family.
