Inspired during a 2002 trip to Paris, France, Drs. Northcutt and Arencibia designed the first prescription frames on the backs of napkins at a cafe and ooh la-la de Paris was born. They offered them first to their own patients at L.A. Optometrique, their West Hollywood practice and the frames were an immediate hit. Ooh la-la de Paris now offers nearly 100 different styles, featuring colorful laminates and its distinctive fleur-de-lis logo.

Above all, Drs. Arencibia and Northcutt strive to make their frames wearable. "We specifically design some frames thinking about the patient's prescription. If we weren't practicing, then it probably would be a lot easier, but if we weren’t practicing, we wouldn’t know what people want." Ooh la la de Paris designs include a luxury line featuring solid 18 karat gold, and Babaloo Eyewear, an adorable children's line. The company donates a portion of sales from the Babaloo Eyewear line to Childhelp USA, an organization devoted to helping abused children.
